Nas net worth: Nasir Bin Olu Daren Jones (better known as 'Nas') is an American rapper, actor and entrepreneur who has a net worth of $70 million. Nas was born on September 14th, 1973 in New York, New York. He was born into music with his father being a jazz musician from Mississippi. At the age of four NAS picked up his first instrument and began to play. The instrument in question was the trumpet.
By the age of nine, Nas started to be influenced by the emerging genre of rap. He soon was writing his own rap songs. His parents divorced the mid-80s which prompted Nas to drop out of school in the 8th grade. At this point, NAS decided to dedicate his life to music. He first gained attention in 1991 when he performed in Main Source's Live at the Barbecue. It was this performance that had Nas being hailed as child prodigy. In 1992 after securing a record deal with Columbia he released his first single, 'Halftime'. The single was success and soon the word was out on NAS. In 1994 Nas released his first album Illmatic. It had seven popular singles on it and was considered a masterpiece of hip-hop.
